Ex-Klan Leader Says Take Confederate Flag Off South Carolina's Statehouse Grounds
Should the Confederate Flag be removed from South Carolina's Statehouse grounds? John Mathews, Editor of the NAACP Creek Connection Newsletter, Goose Creek Branch NAACP, asked me this question.

I personally feel that the Confederate flag has no place in America today, other than for historical reasons. The Confederate flag stood for the Confederacy, and the Confederate States of America is a thing of the past and is no more. This is America, we went to war with the CSA and they lost, I ask this question would we fly the flag of another that we went to war with, and the answer to that is no. Then why should a flag from the Confederacy be any different I ask.

While hate groups like the Ku Klux Klan use this very same flag to intimidate the African American people of America today and the fact that the Confederacy itself wanted to keep the African people in slavery should be enough reason to not fly it on any State grounds in America. We should take it down out of respect for the African American people that live in America today.

How are we as a people ever going to learn from our past mistakes, if we as a people don't try to fix them for the better of mankind?

I will close with this, A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:34.35

I agree Joe. Even being from the south, I think what is in the past is in the past. The Confederate Flag is a piece of History no doubt. But the American flag stands for much more than either the Confederate or the Union. It really bothers me though when someone starts mixing race in with history. When I say race, I am talking all sides of the field. Now as a Christian, as your saying goes, "Where there is grace, there is no race." That is a powerful message. I think that we should spread it all over the great USA. Thank You Joe for standing up for GOD and Americans. I am proud of You Joe. May God Bless you Greatly.

So tell us, have they decided to take down the Confederate Flag? History is History and will always be. I am from the south. The flag means nothing to me other than back in the 1800's the nation was split, and now it is joined together. Thank GOD for that. If we had not become one great nation, then we would be at war with ourselves right now. Just think about our own military for a second. If our men and women in the military weren't on the same page, then they wouldn't be able to work together to protect our nation. I say let by-gone's be by-gones. We are one nation, under GOD, indivisible, with Liberty and justice for all. Amen. So let us keep that INDIVISIBLE part together. Joe you have a wonderful calling keep up the good work my friend.
